Do you wonder what kind of musical instrument you would be if you were a musical instrument? Personally, just about any instrument would be fine with me. But I would want to be made of the best possible quality of materials. I would want to be lovingly assembled by the hand of a master craftsman, shaped to exacting standards. I would want to be the best of the best. We all should think of ourselves as such. I would want to be played by a prodigy of prodigies; by someone who was schooled by Masters; someone who has practiced a lifetime to hone a natural talent and skillful dexterity. I would want someone to strike the chords of my soul as I intone notes of perfect pitch and resonance in harmonic delight. We all should expect as much. But we can't all be Mozart's violin, or Rubinstein's piano, or Les Paul's Gibson guitar. We all find our proper place on the scale. That's OK. We all have our rhythms and blues, raps and rocks, old schools and new waves in us. That is why it is so important for us to know who we let play us. We get played all the time. (And, by the way, we play others all the time too.) So who's pulling on our heartstrings--who's heartstrings are you pulling on. Who's pounding on our emotional keys--who's emotional keys are you pounding on. Who's playing us a song and dance--who are you making sing and dance to your tunes. We all should play us nice.

There's a lot of s... stuff going on and I have thoughts about some of that stuff.
Although this blog is attached to my creative art site, and I will write about arty things, I won't be able to keep myself from commenting on other things... current events; the human condition; the planet's condition; and all sorts of other stuff too. So that you have some sense of where I'm coming from, I can tell you that I tend to see things through both eyes and I tend to understand what I see with both sides of my brain. I try to be balanced in my assessments. Some might say that I sit on the fence a lot (imagine sitting on a white picket fence! Ouch.), when it comes to all that stuff I adhere to daily-normal-bodily-self-survival functions... Ingest-Digest-Eliminate. Hopefully I get enough good stuff to keep me healthy and strong because 'me thinks you and I and everyone is gonna need it'. So come on by and have a read. |
